J. Mario Molina, MD

President and Chief Executive Officer
of Molina Healthcare, Inc.

Joseph Mario Molina, MD, is the son of C. David Molina, who founded Molina Healthcare. Dr. Molina is President and Chief Executive Officer of Molina Healthcare, Inc. He has served in various capacities at the Company since its inception. As the Medical Director, he worked with providers and clinics while overseeing medical and risk management issues. During his time as Vice President, Dr. Molina was responsible for provider contracting, member services, marketing and quality assurance. He received the Ernst & Young Greater Los Angeles Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was named as an honoree of the Greater Long Beach National Conference for Community and Justice. Additionally, Dr. Molina was inducted into the Long Beach Community College Hall of Fame. Dr. Molina was also featured in Time magazine as one of the 25 most influential Hispanics in America in 2005.

Dr. Molina is a member of numerous organizations including the American College of Physicians. He is on the board at the California Medical Association Foundation and Johns Hopkins Medicine. Dr. Molina is also a board member of Homeboy Industries, Association of Health Insurance Plans and the Aquarium of the Pacific. Dr. Molina and John Molina were named the 2006 Entrepreneurs of the Year by the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Molina received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from California State University, Long Beach and a doctor of medicine degree at the University of Southern California. He performed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland and a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at University of California, San Diego.
