Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) and Preventive Health Guidelines (PHG)
Molina Healthcare of Michigan participates in the Michigan Quality Improvement Consortium [MQIC group]. MQIC began in 1999 with the goal of improving healthcare outcomes through the development of clinical practice guidelines that are common among health plans.
All clinical practice guidelines are based on scientific evidence and the review of medical literature; recommendations are also based on published consensus guidelines and do not favor any particular treatment based solely on cost considerations.
The recommendations for care are suggested as guides for making clinical decisions. Ultimately the clinicians and their patients must work together to develop individualized treatment plans that are tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of each patient.
