Molina Healthcare of Texas Gives Wee Can Academy $500 for the Holidays

Molina Healthcare of Texas recently donated $500 to Wee Can Academy. Wee Can Academy is a non-profit preschool and daycare that operates in tandem with Dallas Can Academy, a charter school that provides education to students who struggle in a traditional high school setting. More than 75 percent of the students at Dallas Can Academy are on Medicaid, and many are teen parents. Wee Can Academy provides child care so students can finish their education.
Molina Healthcare Community Engagement was proud to partner with Wee Can Academy for a playground renovation in September. After visiting the school, Molina thought the children could benefit from an improved playground, as the current conditions were not safe or useful for learning. The goal was a safer, more functional playground designed for both fun and education. Now, the space improves the students’ motor, sensory, physical, and coordination development and nurtures creativity, imagination, confidence, and cognitive skills.
