Molina Healthcare of Utah Distributes 400 Personal Care Kits to Locals in Need

06/22/2015

In an effort to help those in need, Molina Healthcare of Utah recently distributed 400 personal care kits at the Salt Lake City Library. The kits were given away on a first-come, first-serve basis to the first 400 individuals who arrived. Each kit included items such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, laundry detergent, 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner and other essential items needed to maintain one’s personal care.

“We hope these kits will be of use to those who need them most. Sometimes personal hygiene is considered a secondary need when compared to other urgent needs such as food, water or shelter,” said Jared Hatala, Medicare account representative from Molina Healthcare of Utah. “We want to make sure the people we serve not only have access to medical care, food, housing and transportation, but also to personal care items.”

It is Molina Healthcare’s ongoing mission to make a positive impact on the community by giving back to underserved communities. To continue serving the low-income population, Molina Healthcare plans to distribute over 3,000 personal care kits across the country to help community members maintain good personal hygiene, one of the most effective ways to prevent illness and stay healthy.
