Molina Healthcare of Illinois Donates Over 300 Bags of Groceries to Feed the Need in Peoria

According to Feeding America research, nearly 1.4 million people in Illinois are struggling with hunger and 459,000 of those individuals are children. To combat this widespread problem, Molina Healthcare collaborated with community organizations to host Feed the Need, an event providing food, health screenings and other important resources to Peoria residents. Molina employee volunteers stuffed and distributed 300 bags of groceries to local families in order to make sure they have food to put on the table at home. Additionally, Heartland Health Centers offered back-to-school physicals and immunizations while OSF HealthCare had its Care-a-Van onsite to offer additional screenings and health education. The event was hosted at Neighborhood House, an organization that works to alleviate poverty through an array of programs that provide critical short-term relief to diverse communities, while facilitating long-term recovery.
