Molina Launches Mobile Health Services Unit in Spokane

08/29/2018

In order to improve access to health care services for vulnerable community members in the Spokane area, Molina Healthcare launched the operation of its first mobile health care and outreach services unit on August 22, 2018. The new mobile unit, MyHealth Mobile, now serves communities throughout the greater Spokane region, complementing Molina Healthcare’s robust provider network, and providing urgent care and outreach services for members who are unable to get to their primary care provider. MyHealth Mobile also provides health and wellness services to Molina members missing preventive health screenings, vaccinations and other important health services.

“Molina has been serving the Spokane and northeastern region for decades, and we appreciate the need for a mobile service to help remove barriers to care and to take Molina’s health and wellness outreach services to the streets,” said Peter Adler, president of Molina Healthcare of Washington. “As we work to provide whole-person care to members in all communities across the state, MyHealth Mobile will become an important part of our services. It will not only provide urgent care services to individuals experiencing homelessness, but will also establish a better connection between our members and available primary care and behavioral health providers, as well as to a variety of other community resources.”

MyHealth Mobile is located at Blessings Under the Bridge every Wednesday night to serve the hundreds of individuals experiencing homelessness who gather for dinner once a week. While at Blessings, MyHealth Mobile provides on-the-spot Urgent Care, outreach and wellness services. “We are thrilled and grateful to Molina for bringing these much-needed services to the people we serve,” said Jessica Kovac, founder of Blessings Under the Bridge.

“Having regular access to health and wellness services will significantly improve the quality of life for people experiencing homelessness in the Spokane‎ community.”

Molina also coordinates with its more than 150 community-based organization partners in the region to provide outreach and preventive health services at no cost to Molina Members. Schedule updates and additional information can be found at www.MolinaHealthcare.com/MyHealthMobile.
