To celebrate National Volunteer Month in April, Molina Healthcare of Washington employees volunteered a total of 266 hours by participating in community service activities across the state. Some of the many volunteer events included serving dinner to women and children at Hope Place in Seattle, assisting with various youth classes at Mari’s Place in Everett, revitalizing a local park in Lynnwood, partnering with Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission to provide lunch at the Men’s Shelter, sorting and packaging food donations at Volunteers of America in Everett and much more.

“Molina Healthcare is delighted to truly embrace the importance of giving back during National Volunteer Month, especially by participating in volunteer opportunities that align with Molina’s mission of improving the overall wellness, health, education, safety and success of all those in our community,” said Jorge Arturo-Rivera, Community Engagement Manager at Molina Healthcare of Washington. “Our employees have a strong commitment to the communities and populations that we serve every day.”

Molina employees participated in these events as part of the company’s Helping Hands employee volunteer program. Helping Hands encourages Molina employees to get involved in their communities by providing paid volunteer time-off (VTO) to do hands-on work with local organizations such as homeless shelters, food banks and after-school programs.
