Molina Healthcare of Ohio Donates $15,000 to National Alliance on Mental Illness Ohio

Molina Healthcare recently contributed $15,000 to support the Ohio Affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). The funds will go toward nationally recognized, evidence-based family and peer education programming and support groups to people free of charge across Ohio. The donation will also be used to support NAMI’s advocacy efforts to enhance the system of mental health care for people and families impacted by mental illness.

Molina’s donation is being directed to the Ohio chapter of NAMI as part of the Company’s recent Giving Tuesday campaign, where Molina and its employees donated more than $100,000 to several nonprofit organizations that support Molina’s mission of providing high-quality health care to people receiving government assistance.

“Molina, through their enhanced care management benefit, has demonstrated how much they understand what families and people with mental illness already know—namely, that people must have a roof over their head, food in their belly, and someone who knows their name in order to be healthy and live their fullest lives,” said Terry Russell, executive director of NAMI Ohio.

“Molina is thrilled to support NAMI Ohio,” said Ami Cole, president of Molina Healthcare of Ohio. “We’re proud to partner with an organization that works continuously to improve the lives of people with mental illness and defy the stigma of seeking help.”
