Molina Healthcare of Florida recently boosted its support of the Miami Children’s Initiative by restocking its existing Molina Giving Closet with 100 toys and various canned foods, vegetables and fruits for 100 local households. Miami Children’s Initiative is community-based network that develops, coordinates and provides quality education, accessible health care, youth development programs, health and nutrition support, opportunities for employment and safe neighborhoods for the children and families in Liberty City. “Thanks to Molina’s contributions, local children and families will have an amazing Christmas,” said Angel Johnson, Miami Children’s Initiative.

The same weekend, Florida’s community engagement team hosted its largest holiday toy giveaway at Juan Pablo Duarte Park in Miami. There were over 1,000 toys for local families and children to choose from, along with pictures with Santa, a bounce house, face painting, food and other family-fun activities. The event was in partnership and support of local non-profit, Young Dreams Community Outreach.

Molina of Florida also hosted a free holiday breakfast event for 300 seniors at the General Antonio Maceo Community Center in Miami. “The holidays are a special time and we want to spread cheer with our valued community partners,” said Liza Ortega, senior community engagement specialist, Molina Healthcare of Florida. “We understand that this can be a tough time of year for many local families and Molina is honored to help whenever we can.”
