Nearly 15,000 Wisconsin residents lost access to food stamps in the first three months after recent changes to the FoodShare program, according to The Wisconsin State Journal. This has a resulted in an increase of clients at local food pantries and a need for more food which is why Molina Healthcare donated $3,000 to the Emergency Food Pantry at Milwaukee Christian Center.

“Molina’s mission is to improve access to health for low income individuals and access to good nutrition is a part of that,” said Scott Johnson, president of Molina Healthcare of Wisconsin. “We are happy to make this donation and we hope Molina’s contribution will help the pantry serve more local residents in need.”

In addition, Molina Healthcare employee volunteers helped organize and package boxes to give to clients at the Center. Through the organization’s Emergency Food Pantry, the Milwaukee Christian Center serves more than 10,000 people a year offering boxes filled with enough food for three to five days.
