08/30/2017

Molina Healthcare of South Carolina recently provided approximately 10,000 children across the state with a complimentary backpack or drawstring bag and free school supplies. Employees distributed the school essentials at dozens of Back-to-School Bashes that took place in Richland, Charleston, Greenville, Florence, York, Sumter, Spartanburg, Marion, Aiken, Kershaw, Cherokee and Lee counties.

At the events, Molina offered a variety of fun activities for the whole family, including live entertainment, games, face painting, food, a bounce house, a corn hole game, and more. Attendees at select events were also able to take photos with Dr. Cleo or ride a smoothie bike. Partnering organizations also offered school supplies and other resources such as health screenings.

Molina employees participated in the Back-to-School events as part of the company’s Helping Hands employee volunteer program. The purpose of the program is to encourage Molina employees to get directly involved in their community by providing paid volunteer time off (VTO) to do direct volunteer work. Throughout the summer, Molina employees across South Carolina donated a total of 150 VTO hours.
