On May 11, 2023, special $0 cost-sharing and extended network exceptions for COVID testing and treatment are going away. Just like other benefits covered under your plan, COVID testing, and treatment will now be covered with plan cost-sharing through in-network providers only.


  • Lab testing for COVID will be covered with plan cost-sharing through in-network providers only.
  • Over-the-counter COVID home test kits will be covered with plan cost-sharing through in-network providers only. Only one test kit (with 2 tests included) will be covered per member per month.
  • Vaccines for COVID will continue to be covered as a preventative service with no cost-sharing through in-network providers and pharmacies only.
  • Medical and drug treatments for COVID will be covered with plan cost-sharing through in-network providers and pharmacies where you receive this care (e.g., doctor’s office, pharmacy, ER, hospital, and so on).

If you have received COVID-related services in the past, be sure to check if your provider is in-network and what cost-sharing will apply for future services.
