World Health Day 2021: COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence is High

World Healthy Day 2021: COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence is High

Hope for humanity is on the horizon with millions of Americans being effectively vaccinated daily. One year into the pandemic, Americans are feeling more optimistic than ever as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations plunge.

Confidence in the vaccine is high and statistics are promising. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of April 6, 2021, over 167 million vaccinations had been administered with people having received at least one dose. Nearly 63 million Americans have been fully vaccinated. For the latest numbers, visit COVID Data Tracker.

“When it’s your turn to get vaccinated, please accept whichever vaccine is available,” said Dr. Jason Dees, executive vice president of Marketplace and chief medical officer of Molina Healthcare. “All vaccines that are approved by the FDA prevent hospitalization and severe disease.”

Each state has its own plan for determining the order in which groups of people will be vaccinated. Molina Healthcare recently launched the MolinaCares COVID-19 Chatbot to help members and others find information and local vaccination locations. Molina is working with local governments and health departments to help in vaccine distribution efforts at various locations where its members live and work.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama recently stated, “When you can get the COVID-19 vaccine, I hope you do—Barack and I are certainly glad we did. It's our best shot at beating this virus, looking out for one another, and getting back to some of the things we miss. Getting vaccinated will save lives—and that life could be yours."

Health experts and others agree the best defense against this disruptive and deadly virus is getting vaccinated when eligible. For more information, visit Molina Healthcare.
