DETROIT, Dec. 22, 2021 - The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Michigan (“Molina”), and the Salvation Army of Eastern Michigan recently held the 38th annual Coats for Kids drive-through event, giving away more than 2,000 new coats to local residents.

MolinaCares provided a $75,000 grant in support of the event, held at the Salvation Army Connor Creek Operations Center.

“Molina and its partners have provided more than 24,000 new coats to Michiganders in need since 2016,” said Heidi McGlinnen, associate vice president of community engagement at Molina Healthcare of Michigan. “We’re thankful to the Salvation Army for helping make this year’s event a success.”

In addition to the thousands of brand-new coats, event attendees also enjoyed hot chocolate, candy and a visit to their car from Santa Claus. MolinaCares volunteers were also on site to help distribute the coats.
