The MolinaCares Accord Donates $20,000 to Springboard to Success

CHICAGO – August 3, 2021The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Illinois (“Molina”), donated $20,000 to Springboard to Success (S2S), the Chicago Housing Authority’s (CHA) not-for-profit partner, to provide college freshmen in need with Chromebook laptops for the upcoming academic year. Students will receive their laptops at S2S’s “Take Flight” reception on August 4.

While many receive financial aid to pay for tuition, CHA youth still struggle with out-of-pocket expenses for college. S2S’s “Take Flight” program meets a critical need by providing students with essentials such as linens, towels, and toiletries for their dorm rooms, as well as school supplies and technology.

“Springboard to Success is grateful to MolinaCares for this generous donation,” said Amanda DeWitt, major gift officer for Springboard to Success. “Receiving the gift of these laptops will help our youth establish a solid foundation as they begin their college careers.”

“We understand that pursuing an education can be a challenge for many in our community due to financial limitations,” said Matt Wolf, president of Molina Healthcare of Illinois. “We are proud to support Springboard to Success in helping students achieve their goals.”
