Molina Healthcare Answers Social Media Call for Help with Donation to Food Pantry

Kenosha, Wisc. (September 13, 2022) — Facing an unprecedented need in the community, Shalom Center recently reached out on social media to ask for help filling the sparsely stocked shelves of its food pantry and Molina Healthcare of Wisconsin (“Molina”) answered the call.
Today, Molina employees presented a $5,000 check and donated boxes of food in support of the center’s mission. Molina also gave the center 10 new shopping carts to make it easier for those without transportation to carry their goods home.
“When we saw the need, Molina quickly reacted to help a longtime partner who shares our mission of improving the health and well-being of our community,” said Brian Maddy, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Wisconsin. “We’re proud do our part in supporting an organization serving our most vulnerable populations.”
The center has seen a 26% increase in its pantry usage between 2021 and 2022, and is planning a 10,500 square foot expansion this fall to serve the rising need for services.
