Molina Complete Care of Virginia Honors 23 Single Mothers, Recipients of the 2022 WomenRise Scholarships

Richmond, Va. (August 31, 2022) — The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in conjunction with Molina Complete Care of Virginia (“Molina”), donated $20,000 to United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg, in sponsorship of the WomenRise Scholarship Program. The celebration honored 23 single mothers, recipients of the scholarship, working toward a post-secondary degree or credential.
The WomenRise Program, entering its second year, covers the cost of childcare while the mothers work towards degrees and certifications, including elementary and kindergarten education and nursing.
“Molina recognizes the importance of having access to high-quality childcare and is proud to sponsor this program,” said Darrin Johnson, plan president for Molina Complete Care of Virginia, “We want to ensure these mothers can focus on school success rather than the rising cost of childcare.”
