Molina Healthcare of Michigan Makes 350 Grand Rapids Elementary School Kids Holiday Season a Little Warmer with Brand-New Coats

On the heels of its largest HOPE Coat Giveaway earlier this month in Detroit, Molina Healthcare of Michigan delivered some warmth to the kids at Buchanan Elementary School in Grand Rapids recently. According to Great Schools, 97 percent of the students attending kindergarten through fifth grade at Buchanan Elementary are low-income. Molina employee volunteers staffed the event fitting and giving nearly 350 coats and winter accessories for all attending students, and gifts for all their teachers.

“The Molina HOPE Coat Giveaway initiative in Michigan has been near to our hearts since it launched in 2016,” said Heidi McGlinnen, associate vice president of community engagement, Molina Healthcare of Michigan. “Since then, over 22,500 new coats have been distributed all over Michigan to those in need during the winter months. We’re thankful to our generous community partners for supporting our efforts each year and we look forward to continuing this tradition.”
