Molina Healthcare is holding our 4th annual Community Champions Facebook Challenge, and this year, we are giving every state a chance to earn extra money for the worthy causes their Community Champions support. Each state that held a Community Champions Awards event selected one winner to represent them for this challenge and they each get a 24-hour period to get as many likes as possible. Each like or share on the Molina Facebook post during that period equals $1 to be donated to the organization of their choice, up to $1,000.
Molina Healthcare of Wisconsin selected Alexander Ayala as the Community Champion to represent the state in the Facebook challenge. As a Milwaukee police officer, Alexander saves lives every day, including the life of a woman who was drowning in a raging Milwaukee river during the floods of 2010. Off-duty he’s a volunteer for National Latino Peace Officers Association, a non-profit group that gives back to the Hispanic Community. Alexander has led efforts in fundraising $6,000 dollars to go toward student scholarships and has personally donated hundreds of dollars for school supplies and student field trips. He’s participated in the Journey House “Clean for Peace” neighborhood clean-up project; volunteered for the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office event “Shop with a Cop”; provided courtesy patrol at the Mexican Fiesta Festival; aided high school students with applications for employment with the police and fire department; and the list goes on.
