For those already insured through Covered CA: Increased premium tax credits will be starting in California on May 1. If you are already covered with a Molina Marketplace plan, you will not have to take any action. If you qualify based on your income level, you will be provided with your new tax credits. You will not have to reapply or update your account online.

For those who are not yet insured through Covered CA: If you have not yet chosen your Molina Marketplace plan, we welcome you to do so here: Molina Marketplace. On April 12, Covered CA will open a Special Enrollment Period for you to buy your Molina plan, complete with no cost preventive services. If you sign up in April, your new tax credit amounts (based on qualifying income) will start on May 1.

Extra tax credits for consumers receiving unemployment compensation will be available starting this summer.

You will not have to take any action! If you are eligible based on your income, you will receive your new tax credits automatically.

When you file your taxes in 2022, your tax credits will be reconciled to provide the additional amounts if you were covered from January through April 2021.

If you would like to increase your benefits, the Silver plan might be your best option! We are happy to assist you and rollover your current balances on your deductibles and out of pocket costs from your bronze plan coverage in early 2021. If you switch from a Bronze plan to a Silver plan with no gap in coverage, we will credit your balances. This means you will not have to start over at zero for your deductible and out of pocket costs. We will give you credit for the amounts you have already paid in your Bronze plan in 2021, and the deductible and out of pocket maximums of your new Silver plan will apply.

Yes. You do not need to take action to receive your tax credits.
