Mental Health

What’s covered
Mental health treats many things including depression, anxiety, serious family issues and other mental health problems. Mental health care is just like any other type of care. Your PCP can provide you some services. For other services you may need to see a specialist in the County Mental Health Plan. Mental health services are limited to individuals with a significant impairment in an important area of life functioning or a probability of significant deterioration in an important area of life functioning.
Members are entitled to:
- Up to 10 days per year of acute inpatient hospitalization in an acute care hospital, psychiatric hospital or psychiatric health facility
- Psychiatric pharmaceuticals
- Up to 12 outpatient encounters per year
For inpatient and outpatient mental health conditions that are beyond the scope of your PCP, you will be provided services through the Sacramento County Mental Health Plan.
