Caregiving means helping someone stay safe and healthy at home. Some people need help with things like taking a bath, getting dressed, taking medicine on time or making their home safer. These are called activities of daily living (ADL).
Other people may need more help with getting to thedoctor, buying food, cooking meals or keeping the house clean. These tasks are called instrumental activities of daily living (IADL).
Caregivers help people stay in their homes, feel respected and have a good life.
