Effective January 1, 2020, Healthy Michigan Plan (HMP)
members who are non-exempt are required to work or
complete other activities, such as job search, for at least
80 hours per month. 80 hours per month is 20 hours per week.

How do I claim that I should be excused?

If you think you should be exempt because you have a medical condition or are disabled, pregnant, or have another reason,
please call the HMP Work Requirements and Exemption Reporting Line at (833) 895-4355, TTY: (866) 501-5656 if you think you should be exempt.

How can I get help finding qualifying activities?

Detroit at Work is available to assist you with meeting the Healthy Michigan Plan work requirements.

    They can help you with:
  • • Understanding / finding activities that qualify
  • • Accessing these activities
  • • Reporting work or other activities to maintain your health care coverage
