What is Text4baby?
Text4baby sends free text messages with health information and helpful tips, through pregnancy until your baby turns one. Women who sign up for Text4baby get three free text messages a week, timed to their due date or their baby's birth date. Once you're signed up, you can also use Text4baby to send yourself free appointment reminders.
Is Text4baby really free?
Yes. Thanks to The Wireless Foundation, even if you don't have a text messaging plan, or have a limited number of texts per month, you will get these messages free. However, you must use one of the following carriers: Alltell, Assurance Wireless, AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Boost Mobile, Cellcom, Cincinnati Bell, Cricket, MetroPCS, n-Telos, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Verizon Wireless or Virgin Mobile USA.
How do I set up an appointment reminder?
- Text REMIND to 511411
- When asked, enter the appointment date with no spaces or words (example: 101214)
- You will then be asked to enter a short description of the appointment (example: Dr. Smith 9am)
- You will receive two text reminders. You'll get the first reminder three days before your appointment and the second reminder the morning of your appointment.
How can I stop getting text messages from Text4baby?
Text "STOP" to 511411 to discontinue messages.
Who created Text4baby?
Text4baby is provided in partnership with the nonprofit organization National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition and Voxiva, along with founding sponsor Johnson & Johnson. The content is created in collaboration with leading experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and others.
