When can you enroll?

You can enroll, renew or change your plan during the Open Enrollment Period, which spans November 1 through January 31 each year.

You may be able to enroll at other times if you have a qualifying life event. This is called a Special Enrollment Period.

Qualifying life events include:

  • Getting married or entering a domestic partnership
  • Having, adopting or fostering a child
  • Moving to a new area
  • Losing health coverage
  • Exhausting COBRA coverage
  • Turning 26
  • Leaving a college health plan
  • Returning from active‑duty military service
  • Release from jail or prison
  • Becoming a U.S. citizen, national or lawfully present individual
  • Changes in tax credit eligibility
