How Kentucky’s Drug List works

Kentucky’s Drug List shows drugs your Medicaid plan covers. You can get drugs that are:

  • Listed on your state’s Drug List (also called a PDL, CDL or formulary). Click the link to view your Drug List
  • Prescribed by a provider who works with your state program.
  • Filled at a pharmacy that works with your state program.

Some drugs may have rules, like:

  • Age limits
  • Limits on how much you can get
  • Limits on how soon you can fill the drug again
  • The generic type must be used
  • You must try preferred drugs first
  • Your provider must ask for approval first

If you need help, call (800) 210-7628, 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Visit Kentucky Medicaid Member Portal for more information about your drug benefit.
