SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Dec. 23, 2022 — Molina Healthcare of Illinois (“Molina”) is partnering with community organizations, government officials, homeless shelters and hotels to help families and individuals stay safe and warm this holiday season, as the state prepares for plummeting temperatures and a severe winter snowstorm.

Molina will cover the cost of 15 hotel rooms in Springfield so that they can be used by individuals in need, including those experiencing homelessness or mental health issues.

“Improving the health and well-being of those in the communities we serve is our top priority at Molina,” said Matt Wolf, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Illinois. “We are grateful to work with valued partners across the state to provide food and shelter for those in need this holiday season.”

Molina, together with Washington Street Missions, has provided rooms for 15 parties in need Dec. 22 through Dec. 26. Daily hot meals are also being provided by Sawse Entrees.

“Molina Healthcare is the true Santa for the homeless population this Christmas,” said Eldon Davis, executive director at Washington Street Mission. “They are saving lives and Washington Street Mission is extremely grateful.”

Molina is also working with community partners in Moline, Rockford and Chicago to provide food and over 50 hotel rooms for those in need this holiday season.
