Molina Healthcare of Nevada Hosts Barbecue and Community Resources Event in Henderson

Molina Healthcare of Nevada, together with St. Paul’s Church, hosted a community barbecue to share food, as well as information on vital resources available to individuals and families in Henderson and the surrounding areas.
According to Three Square Food Bank, the local area (zip code 89015) experiences food insecurity at a 14.1% rate, while the average rate across Clark County is 12%.
Committed to Nevada, Molina hosted this event to help bridge the gap by not only providing a free meal, but by connecting the community with ciritcal information that will help combat social determinants of health, such as food insecurity, and improve health outcomes.
Attendees enjoyed lunch and drinks. They also had access to materials and resources about health insurance, vision screenings, utility and rental assistance programs, furniture programs, information for aging adults, and child safety.
