CHIP Perinatal Newborn
Newborn children who were previously enrolled in the CHIP Perinatal program during their mother's pregnancy, can continue to get services through CHIP Perinatal Newborn for 12 months beginning on the date of birth if he/she is not eligible for Medicaid. Available in Dallas, Harris, Hidalgo, Jefferson and Rural Service Area (RSA).

STAR is a Texas Medicaid managed care program. You pick a medical plan that gives your Medicaid services. You pick a main doctor. That doctor is your point of contact for Medicaid services. STAR+PLUS is a Texas Medicaid managed care program for people who have disabilities or are age 65 or older. People in STAR+PLUS get Medicaid health care and long-term services and supports through a medical plan that they choose. Available in Bexar, Dallas, El Paso, Harris, Hidalgo, Jefferson, MRSA NE and Tarrant Service Areas.
