The MolinaCares Accord, in Collaboration with Passport Health Plan by Molina Healthcare, Supports Black Initiatives

LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 19, 2021 — The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”) has donated $25,000 to Metro United Way’s Black L.O.V.E. (Live. Own. Vote. Excel.) Philanthropic Partnership program to support the advancement of Black-led philanthropy rooted in generosity, justice, and shared accountability.
“Black L.O.V.E. seeks to provide support to people of all ages in order to close the gaps that currently exist across sectors,” said Yvette Gentry, director of justice and opportunity for Metro United Way. “We seek to build new, more equitable systems that allow Black people to live, own, vote, and excel.”
Black L.O.V.E. works to improve mental, physical, and spiritual health; increase asset-ownership and generational wealth creation; remove barriers to voting and increase participation in elections and census counts; and amplify narratives that help to promote excellence in the Black community.
“Metro United Way is committed to using its brand equity to usher in a new framework for philanthropic grant-making, that promotes racial equity in Louisville,” said Daryle Unseld Jr., chief equity officer for Metro United Way. “We are grateful for MolinaCares in helping us realize this vision.”
