LOUISVILLE, Ky. Nov. 13, 2023 — The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Passport by Molina Healthcare (“Passport”), presented a $15,000 check to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana on Monday. The funds will help support the organization’s educational, mentorship, and nutritional programs for underserved youth across the region.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana serves nearly 3,300 youth annually across four locations in the region and serves more than 26,000 meals to kids annually. The clubs are open to children and teens ages 6 through 18 and provide them with a safe, positive environment, as well as resources to help them lead healthier lifestyles.

“The Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana is a tremendous asset to our community, and we are grateful for all they do to support our youth in need,” said Ryan Sadler, plan president of Passport by Molina Healthcare. “By providing kids and teens with a family-friendly atmosphere where they can be mentored and cared for, the Boys and Girls Club is helping us set up young Kentuckians for lifelong success.”

According to national data from the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, 80% of program alumni said the club had a positive impact on their attitude toward fitness and health. Research also points to the many benefits of mentoring for young people, including better attitudes about school, healthier relationships and lifestyles choice, enhanced self-esteem and self-confidence, and stronger relationships with parents, teachers and peers.

“Breaking down barriers starts with getting young people through our doors, and The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation is stepping up to help more kids and teens become club members,” said Daryle W. Unseld, Jr. president and CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana. “We never want to turn anyone away because of a financial roadblock. We are grateful for this investment in our mission and the future leaders of our community.”
