Molina Healthcare of New Mexico Offers Free Traditional Healing, Counseling and Support Services Following Gallup Parade Incident

Gallup, N.M., Aug. 8, 2022 - Molina Healthcare of New Mexico (“Molina”) is offering free support services for community residents impacted by the recent incident in which an SUV drove through the route at the Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial Parade. Traditional counseling and healing services will be provided in partnership with the Diné Hataałii Association, a Navajo Nation nonprofit dedicated to protecting and preserving traditional Navajo ceremonies.

“This was a terrible assault on the people of the Navajo Nation and the many tribes participating in the Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial,” said Carolyn Ingram, plan president of Molina Healthcare of New Mexico. “At Molina, we are committed to providing critical resources to the communities we serve, especially during such trying times. We’re proud to partner with the Diné Hataałii Association to offer the traditional behavioral health support needed for those affected by this senseless act in our community.”

Directly following the incident, Molina provided support by offering free access to traditional counseling, healing services and ceremonies to both Molina members and non-members.
