About STAR+PLUS

STAR+PLUS is a Texas Medicaid managed care program for people who have disabilities or are age 65 or older. People in STAR+PLUS get Medicaid health care and long-term services and support through a medical plan that they choose. What’s covered.

STAR+PLUS Medicare-Medicaid Plan. A simpler way for you to get your Medicare and STAR+PLUS Medicaid services.

In March 2015, Medicare and STAR+PLUS Medicaid joined together to offer one plan, STAR+PLUS Medicare-Medicaid Plan. This plan provides the full set of medical services you get from both Medicare and STAR+PLUS Medicaid. It's one medical plan instead of two.

How one plan can help you:

Your STAR+PLUS Medicare-Medicaid Plan will work with you, your family, and your providers to make sure you get all the services you need. It's a simpler way to get your care. You’ll keep the care you already have and get the services that are right for you, such as:

  • Basic medical care you get now like doctor visits, hospital visits, and prescription drug benefits.
  • All the long-term services you get now like attendant services.
  • A Service Coordinator. This is someone who will work with you, your family, and your doctors to make sure you get the Medicare and Medicaid services you need.
  • "Value-added" or Extra Services.
