Protecting Your Family’s Health
Keeping your family up to date with the flu shot is an easy, safe, and very good way to protect your family from getting sick from the seasonal bug. The flu shot is FREE and some in your family may be eligible for rewards for getting it.
The flu isn’t just a bad cold. It can lead to serious health complications like pneumonia, swelling of the heart or brain, multi-organ failure, and even death. Children under 5, and those who already have a health conditions are most at risk for serious illness and death when they get the flu. Each year, millions of families find themselves battling the fever, cough, sore throat, and body aches that come with the flu. Getting sick disrupts everyone’s routine and causes missed days of school, daycare, work and fun activities with friends and family. By getting your family their flu shots, you’re protecting yourself, your kids, other loved ones, and everyone else your family is around.
Flu Shots for Babies
Babies can get their first flu shot at 6 months and should have 2 doses on or before their 2nd birthday. The shots must be given at least 4 weeks apart.
Passport Members who get 2 flu shots before their 2nd birthday can earn a $100 reward! Gift cards must be claimed within 90 days of their 2nd flu shot.
Flu Shots for Children
Children age 6 months through 8 years need 2 doses of the flu shot given at least 4 weeks apart if they have not had the flu shot before. If your child has received the flu shot in the past, they just need 1 shot per year.
Flu Shots for Tweens, Teens, and Adults
Anyone over 8 should get a flu shot every year. The flu virus changes every year, so the shot changes every year with it to best fight the latest strain.
