How do I schedule transportation?

Call (866) 642-9279 (TTY 711) as soon as possible. Transportation specialists are ready to help 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can schedule a ride up to 30 days before your appointment. Molina Healthcare may not be able to schedule transportation for you if you do not call at least 2 business days before your appointment.

When you call us, your transportation specialist will find the best option for you. We offer flexible options like:

  • Door-to-door service when needed. Your driver will walk you from your door to the vehicle and to your provider’s office.
  • Rideshare services like Lyft or Uber.
  • Taxis or van services.
  • Bus passes if you want to ride a bus to appointments.
  • Mileage reimbursement to pay you back for the gas used to drive to appointments. You may qualify if a relative, legal guardian, neighbor or friend can give you a ride. You can drive yourself if you do not have a medical condition that prevents you from driving.
  • Transportation set up by your provider.

If you need to stop at the pharmacy, tell your transportation specialist when you schedule your trip. You can stop at the pharmacy after a doctor’s visit, or as a standalone trip. If you will go to the pharmacy after a doctor’s visit, ask your doctor to call the pharmacy so your prescription is ready when you get there.

Can I get rides in addition to my extra benefit of 30 one-way trips?

Yes, in some cases. Molina Healthcare will give you unlimited rides for Medicaid members for the reasons below. Your transportation for these services will be covered without using your extra benefit of 30 one-way trips.

  • If you must travel 30 miles or more to get covered services. We make every effort to find a closer provider to meet your health needs. If a closer provider cannot be found, we will cover transportation to and from the provider’s office.
  • If you use a wheelchair or are going to a dialysis, chemotherapy, or radiation appointment.
  • If you are discharged (released) from the hospital. Hospital discharges include emergency room, inpatient and outpatient discharges.
  • If you are taking your child to an infant well-visit or other medical visit, and your child is younger than one year of age.
  • If you are going to a prenatal or postpartum OB/GYN visit. This includes visits for staple removal after a C-section.

For help or to check if you are eligible for unlimited rides, call (866) 642-9279. Call at least 2 business days before your visit.

You can also get help with transportation for certain services through the local County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS) Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) program. Call your local CDJFS office for questions or help with NET services.

How do I cancel a scheduled ride?

If you need to cancel a scheduled ride, call us at least 24 hours before your trip.

If you don’t cancel 24 hours ahead of a scheduled trip, you may lose one of your 30 one-way trips for the year. You may also lose a scheduled trip if the driver arrives and you do not come to the vehicle.
